King Edward VII Fact 1: King Edward VII was born on November 9, 1841. He was christened in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle but would be known as "Bertie" to members of the Royal family. He grew up with eight siblings called Vicky, Alice, Alfred, Helena, Louise, Arthur, Leopold and Beatrice all of whomsurvived childhood.

King Edward VII Fact 18: King Edward VII died on May 6, 1910. Having been a heavy smoker most of his life, he was a great suffer of bronchitis. Whilst on a trip to Biarritz in France, he collapsed. He returned to England on April 27th and the following week his wife Alexandra had also returned from a trip to Corfu when she had been visiting her brother. The following day, King Edward VII suffered several heard attacks, but refused to take to his bed. At eleven thirty that night he became unconscious and was placed in his bed. Edward VII, King of England died a short while later. His body was laid to rest in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Influence & Legacy of King Edward VII: He held the title of the Prince of Wales longer than any other heir apparent. The Edwardian era was named after him. He saw to the reforming of the Army Medical Services, reorganized the British Army and modernized the Army Medical Services.
